Ryan Garcia Challenges Errol Spence Amid Legal Dispute with Shared Trainer

Ryan Garcia has inserted himself into a situation between his trainer, Derrick James, and Errol Spence Jr. over their legal battles. Garcia says he wants to fight the former welterweight champion Spence and beat him due to his legal issues with Derrick.

James is reportedly suing Spence (28-1, 25 KOs), the former unified welterweight champion, over unpaid money from his last fight against Terence Crawford in July of last year. Spence is suing in return.

Ryan has only been with Derrick James for a couple of fights, and he’s putting himself in between their situation, which some would argue is not Kingry’s place.

“You Wanna Sue Him? I Wanna Beat You Up.”

Garcia posted a video on social media, challenging Spence to a fight, “Yeah, Spence got beef with my coach. What’s good? Come see me. You want to sue him? I want to beat you up. Facts, bro. Do-do-do-do-do-do-do. Knockout Errol. Nice.”

Some feel this is just an empty call-out by Ryan Garcia of Spence, like some of the others he’s made towards various fighters, but he does show that he’s loyal to his new trainer, Derrick, who is just starting out.

Garcia needs to let them settle their differences without him putting in his two cents by calling out Spence for a fight. Ryan putting himself in the equation ain’t a smart move.

Potential Garcia vs. Spence Showdown

A fight between Ryan Garcia and Spence seems unlikely due to their differences in experience and weight classes. Ryan’s comment makes it interesting for fans, who wonder if he’s serious and if a fight between him and Spence could actually take place.

Could the anger from Spence’s legal battle with Derrick lead to Ryan fighting Errol? I think it would be a bad idea for the 25-year-old Ryan to mix it up with Spence because that does not look like it’ll end well for Kingry.

Even as bad as Spence looked in his loss to Terence Crawford last July, the pressure and punches he landed on the Nebraska native in the fight would give Ryan huge problems.

Crawford took a lot of hard punches in that fight before putting Spence away in the ninth round. I have doubts whether Ryan would last long against Spence, especially if he’s in shape, non-drained, and 100% healthy.

We all know that Spence had an eye problem during the Crawford fight that limited vision in one of his eyes. Errol has since had surgery to fix the problem and he’s now ready to return to the ring. If it’s Ryan who is next for Spence, it might not end well for the young, upstart social media star.
