Bill Haney Trolls Fans in Desperate Bid to Sell Tickets

Bill Haney is in full troll mode this week, trying to encourage fans to purchase tickets for his son Devin’s fight against Ryan Garcia this Saturday night on DAZN PPV at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The main problem is that fans are balking at the exorbitant $69.99 price of DAZN PPV and the expensive tickets at the Barclays Center.

It would help if the organizers slashed the prices in half because fans are unwilling to pay the asking price. If they want to lure the fence-sitters into purchasing this card, a price drop is essential.

A Mismatched Fight and Steep PPV Price

Playing the villain troll role won’t help Bill sell Devin’s fight with Kingry. It’s not a great fight to begin with. The 165-lb Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) should be fighting someone his sizes, like Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis or Tim Tszyu, instead of melting down to 140 to pick social media boxer Ryan Garcia.

Haney is talking crazy, predicting 1 million buys, but a more realistic number is in the 100,000 range if that. I think the event could do decent numbers in the 300K range if the undercard were loaded with good fights, but there aren’t any compelling match-ups, not one.

Undercard

Arnold Barboza vs. Sean McClomb
Bektemir “Bek” Melikuziev vs. Pierre Dibombe
John Ramirez vs. David Jimenez
Charles Conwell vs. Nathaniel Gallimore

That price has got to drop to get fans interested in purchasing it because the fight isn’t PPV-worthy, and the undercard is terrible, filled with no-names that shouldn’t be on a pay-per-view card.

Bill Haney Adopting Troll Persona

“Hall of Famer at 25, still out here hunting,” said Bill Haney on social media, talking about his son Devin, whose best wins were a controversial decision over Vasily Lomachenko and 35-year-old faded Regis Prograis.

“The best fighter in the world is fighting on April 20th. I know you don’t want to hear it. On April 20th, we’re going to give you more to hate,” continued Bill, playing the villainous troll card, looking to get fans angry enough to purchase the Haney vs. Garcia event on DAZN PPV for $69.99.

“Pound-for-pound #1. The King of the world [Haney] is visiting New York city on April the 20th. Don’t down him, crown him. The youngest undisputed champion in boxing history,” said Bill, talking about Haney becoming undisputed lightweight champion in 2022 after beating George Kambosos Jr. to capture his three titles.
