Heavyweight Joe Joyce will fight Kash Ali in a 10-round contest at the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham, England, this Saturday, March 16th, to try and snap his two-fight losing streak. This is Joyce’s first fight back since losing to Zhilei Zhang.

The 2016 Olympic silver medalist Joyce (15-2, 14 KOs) hasn’t won a fight in two years since his eleventh-round knockout over Joseph Parker in September 2022. After that big win, Joyce was stopped twice by the big puncher Zhilei Zhang, who had his number.

Kash Ali: A Step Down in Competition

Now, moving on, Joyce meets Kash in a rebuilding fight, which should be a fairly easy one for ‘The Juggernaut’ unless his punch resistance has been compromised by his third-round knockout loss to Zhang last September.

Kash has operated at the domestic level, and the only notable fighter he’s faced during his 13-year career is David Price, who beat him by a fifth-round disqualification in 2019.

That fight saw Kash bite Price a couple of times. It seemed pretty obvious to some that Kash knew he was in over his head against Price, so he opted to get out of the fight on a DQ. Hopefully, Kash will not resort to biting Joyce if things look bleak for him on Saturday night.

Joyce has too much power for this guy to stay in there for long without getting chopped down the way Parker did.

Parker Rematch on the Horizon?

Speaking of Parker. Joyce called him out after his upset win over WBO interim heavyweight champion Zhang last Friday night.

Parker’s management is unlikely to take Joyce up on his offer, as they got to know that it would be a risky fight, and it wouldn’t be one that would pay well unless the Saudis were interested in staging this one in their country.

Parker can’t fight Joyce even if he wants to because Zhang is expected to exercise the rematch clause in the contract to force a second fight. If Joyce wins his fight against Christian Hammer this Sunday, March 17th, in Castlebar, Ireland, one option for Joyce will be Dillian Whyte.

That would be an interesting fight, and the winner would be in a position to fight Parker potentially for a good-paying fight.

Whyte will probably play it safe and sidestep Joyce because he looked pretty bad in his last fight against Jermaine Franklin, and he’d likely crumble against The Juggernaut.
