David Price: Joshua to Roll Over Ngannou, Setting Up Fury Clash

David Price predicts that former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua will make easy work of Francis Ngannou in their ten-round big-money fight next month on March 8th in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

A decisive win for Joshua (27-3, 24 KOs) over the 37-year-old Ngannou will make fans believe that AJ has a chance against Tyson Fury, who had a nightmarish time beating the ex-UFC champion by a controversial decision last October.

If Joshua looks outstanding against Ngannou, fans will get amped up about seeing him and Fury battle, provided Tyson wins his fight against Oleksandr Usyk on May 18th.

Joshua to “Walk Through” Ngannou

“I think Joshua will walk through him really in a boxing match,” Price said to iFL TV, predicting a win for Anthony Joshua over Francis Ngannou.

The 34-year-old Joshua should be able to win this fight without any issues, but given that his chin hasn’t been the same since he was hurt by Wladimir Klitschko in 2017, you can’t entirely count Ngannou out in this ten-round clash.

If Joshua had to fight someone that was actually good with experience, like Zhilei Zhang, that would spoil things completely. Some fans believe AJ and Fury are both at the end of their careers and are being kept going with careful match-making.

Saudi Arabia Stage Set for Controversy

“I think it will magnify what happened with Fury and get people talking more again,” said Price.

What Price is getting at with his comment is that a destructive win for Joshua over Ngannou will make Fury look bad based on his performance against Francis, which was poor last October.

AJ is getting big money from the Saudis to fight the novice Ngannou in what is essentially an eliminator, with the winner fighting for the undisputed.

To some, it’s bizarre that Joshua is being permitted to take this type of fight to earn a spot to face the Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk winner for the undisputed championship, but this kind of circus stuff has become standard for the heavyweight division now.

White Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, has been hyping the former UFC heavyweight champion Ngannou (0-1) as being “dangerous” and a real threat to AJ based on his performance last October against Tyson Fury; Price isn’t buying any of that blabber.

Ngannou has been picked to ensure that Joshua steams into a big-money fight against Fury without hiccups.
