Superstar Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis is rumored to be fighting on Amazon Prime Video PPV on March 30th, with unbeaten lightweight contender Frank ‘The Ghost’ Martin being discussed as his potential opponent.

Davis vs. Martin has recently been discussed on social media, and it’s a fight. If it happens, the contest will create much interest among boxing fans.

Martin Drops Hints

‘The Ghost’ Martin got people amped up on Instagram last week, saying, “I’m taking it to the ceiling on the next one!!!.’ Fans saw this post as a hint from #3 WBA Martin that he could face Tank Davis for his WBA ‘regular’ title next.

Tank Davis must fight a notable opponent for his March 30th fight because he can’t use a retread like Pitbull or Ryan if he expects fans to purchase his fight on PPV.

Amazon’s Big Bet

Amazon signed a multi-year deal with PBC, choosing to broadcast boxing events to replace Showtime for that company. PBC has pressure on them to put on good cards to attract interest and to ensure Amazon continues to keep them when their contract is up.

Using Tank Davis in the first event in their new deal with Amazon is a smart move by PBC, but only if they get a good name like Martin to be used as his opponent.

Martin (18-0, 12 KOs) makes more sense as Gervonta’s opponent on March 30th than a needless rematch with Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz. That fight would likely bomb badly on Amazon Prime Video PPV.

“The two Ferraris is a throwaway line about ‘If I come there, do I get a big payday?’ Of course, you’d get a big payday,” said Gareth A. Davies to Boxing Social about Gervonta Davis asking for two Ferraris from the Saudis to come to their country for a fight.

“He’s one of the young stars in America. At the moment, Tank Davis, Ryan Garcia, slightly less so. Teofimo Lopez, Devin Haney, they’re all claiming to be the ‘Face of Boxing’ in America, aren’t they? You can put them in with Terence Crawford as well.

“Those guys are probably the ‘Face of Boxing’ in America and Shakur Stevenson. Those four or five guys in America. They’re all claiming to be

“It wouldn’t surprise me at all to see those big fights. Devin Haney, Gervonta Davis, and Shakur Stevenson.”
