Coach Bullet Cromwell, the ex-trainer for Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero (15-1, 13 KOs), is picking him to successfully defend his WBA light welterweight title against challenger Isaac Cruz (25-2-1, 17 KOs) on March 30th on Amazon Prime Video PPV at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Cromwell Backs Romero, Highlights Advantages

Bullett, who Rolly replaced, feels that he’s got too much size, power, and skills for the lightweight ‘Pitbull,’ and will knock him out in their co-feature bout on the Tim Tszyu vs. Keith Thurman card on March 30th in this PBC event.

Boxing fans overwhelmingly are picking Cruz to defeat Rolly, who they view as a poor fighter who doesn’t deserve to be the WBA champion after his controversial win over Ismael Barroso last May.

Rolly looked uncoordinated and out of his depth before the referee, Tony Weeks, stopped the action in the ninth, giving him a victory in one of the most peculiar sequences that this writer has ever seen involving a stoppage.

Capitalizing on Awkwardness and Cruz’s Limitations

“Rolly has a more difficult style [than Pitbull Cruz]. We know Rolly’s style is awkward. Pitbull doesn’t have a jab. He has to get inside,” said trainer Bullett Cromwell to Fighthype, picking Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero to defeat Isaac Cruz on March 30th on Amazon Prime PPV.

“Rolly can beat him from the outside and not even take no chances. I think Rolly has all the ability and all the knowledge that I placed in him about the fight game to be successful,” said Cromwell.

If Rolly wins, it’ll reflect favorably on Bullet, as he can brag that he taught him everything he knows. But if he performs the way he did against Barroso, he’ll surely lose, and that’ll make Bullet look bad.

“I hope these trainers don’t change nothing about him, because if they do, that’s to his demise. Keep doing what Bullet gave him. He’ll be successful,” said Bullet. “Pitbull is well-conditioned. He throws a million punches, but some of them to no avail, but if they land, it’s a problem.”

The chances are high that Rolly will be dominated by Pitbull and suffer his second career defeat.

“I take nothing away from Pitbull, but Rolly has more skills than him, way more power, and I expect to see him knock him out,” said Bull, picking Rolly to defeat Cruz on March 30th.
