Boxing results: Elijah Pierce KOs Mike Plania

By Ken Hissner: At the Overtime Elite Arena, Atlanta, Georgia, Friday over DAZN promoter Brandon Rhodes (OTX Overtime Boxing) presented in the Main Event Elijah Pierce, who knocked out Mike “Majic” Plania in three rounds.

In the main event, super bantam southpaw Elijah Pierce, 18-2 (15), #122, of Midwest, OK, knocked out Mike “Majic” Plania, 28-3 (15), #122, of General Santos City, PH, at 0:53 of the third round of a scheduled ten rounds

In the first two rounds, Plania was the aggressor outworking Pierce. In the third round, a straight left from Pierce on the chin and down went Plania for the count.

In the co-feature Super Welter Olympic Bronze Medalist southpaw Oshae “Suga” Jones, 4-0 (0), #152.6, of Toledo, OH, shut out Miranda Barber, 3-5 (1), #153.8, of Boca Raton, FL, over 8×2 rounds.

In the first two rounds, Jones had the edge rocking Barber at the end of the second’s final seconds. In the third and fourth rounds, it was dominated by Jones, who had Barber again in trouble at the end of each round.

In the fifth and sixth rounds, Jones continued landing punch after punch, with Barber barely getting through the round. In the seventh round, Jones continued out-landing Barber, who barely got through the round. In the eighth and final round, it was all Jones, with Barber able to go the distance.

Scores were 80-72 by all and KH.

Light Haven “Hit Man” Brady, Jr., 10-0 (4), #132.4 of Albany, GA. Defeated Andre Rene Rodriguez, 9-1 (5), #132, of Phoenix, AZ, over six rounds.

In the first round final seconds, Brady had Rodriguez hurt and holding on. In the second round, Brady again had Rodriguez in trouble at the end of the round. In the third round, the action picked up in a close one, with Brady having a slight edge.

In the fourth round, once again, it was Brady finishing stronger. In the fifth round, it was Rodriguez getting the best of a slugfest of uppercuts until the end, with Brady finishing stronger.

In the sixth and final round, Rodriguez had Brady against the ropes until the final minute when Brady drove him backward at the bell. The referee was Ansel Stewart.

Scores were all 60-54, as was KH.

Bantam Gabriel Muratalla, 10-0 (5), #117.6, of Fontana, CA, defeated Edwin ”Puto” Rodriguez, 12-7-2 (5), #117.8, of Juana Diaz, PR, over six rounds.

In the first two rounds, Rodriguez kept coming forward as Muratalla countered him. In the third round, Rodriguez came back well enough to take the round.

In the fourth round, Muratalla kept on the pressure outworking Rodriguez. In the fifth round, it was Rodriguez out landing Muratalla. In the sixth and final round, Muratalla was the heavier puncher countering Rodriguez well.

Scores were 60-54 twice and 59-55 and 58-56 KH.

The referee was Ansel Stewart.

Feather Xavian Ramirez, 4-1 (3), #125.6, of Scottsbluff, NEB, lost to Ricardo Lucio Galvan, 5-0 (2), #125.4, of Mexico City, MEX, and Reno, NV, over four rounds.

In the first round, it was all action from both fighters, with Ramirez having a slight edge. In the second through the fourth rounds, Galvan was throwing all the punches while Ramirez was slipping them but doing little in return.

Scores were 39-37 by all and KH.
