Boxing Results: Ali Izmailov Defeats Charles Foster on Showtime!

By Ken Hissner: At the Turning Stone Resort & Casino, Verona, New York, over Showtime Friday, Dimitriy Salita (Salita Promotions), matchmaker Eric Bottjer and Steve Clemente presented in the Main Event Ali Izmailov defeating previously unbeaten Charles Foster for the vacant USBA Light Heavyweight title.

In the Main Event Ali Izmailov, 11-0 (7), #174, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, defeated southpaw Charles Foster, 22-1 (12), #172, of New Haven, CT, over 10 rounds for the vacant IBF USBA Light Heavyweight title.

In the fourth rounds halfway point the taller Foster was dominating with his jab but warned by Referee Charlie Fitch for sticking it out and holding it. Both fighters were marked with swelling that Foster had under his right eye while Izmailov under his right eye swelling. With seconds remaining in the fifth round a right from Izmailov on the chin dropped Foster for an 8-count from referee Fitch.

In the eighth round Izmailov threw Foster to the canvas. In the ninth round both fighters hit the canvas. In the tenth and final round both fighters were exhausted falling into clinches.

Scores were 95-94 and 96-93 twice and 95-95 KH

Light Heavy southpaw Richard Vansiclen, 13-1-1 (6), #172 ½, of Seattle, WA, lost to Juan Carrillo, 11-0 (8), #174, of Barranquilla, COL, over 10 rounds with both hitting the deck.

By the second round Vansiclen already had a mouse under his right eye. In the third round Carrillo landed a pair of right hooks dropping Vansiclen for an 8-count. In the fourth round it was Vansiclen countering and dropping Carrillo for an 8-count.

After six rounds it looked like an even fight. In the remaining four rounds both had their moments with Vansiclen taking the tenth round.

Scores were 94-94 and 95-93 twice as did KH.

Light Heavy Clay “The Weapon” Waterman, 11-0 (8), #173 ½, of Logan City, Queensland, AUST, defeated Kenmon Evans, 10-1-1 (3), #173 ½, of New Smyrna Beach, FL, over 8 rounds.

In the first two rounds Evans moved well using a good jab and landing rights to the chin on occasions taking both rounds. In the third round it was Waterman rocked Evans on several occasion getting a reaction from the crowd.

The stronger Waterman stalked Evans throughout the bout with the latter using an effective jab but not enough to win most rounds.

Scores were 77-75 and 78-74 twice and same for KH.

Super Light “Marvelous” Mykquan Williams, 19-0-2 (8), #141, of East Hartford, CT, drew with southpaw Pablo Cesar Galdino, 12-7-2 (8), #142, of San Paulo, BRZ, over 8 rounds.

Scores were 77-75 Williams and 76-76 twice.

Super Middle Maciej “Striczu” Sulecki, 31-2 (12), #169, of Warsaw, POL, stopped Angel Hernandez, 19-22-1 (14), #168 ½, of Gary, IND, at 0:16 of the second round of a scheduled 8. In the second round a right from Sulecki dropped Hernandez on his back for the full count from Referee Benjy Esteves.

Heavy Moses Johnson, 9-1-2 (7), #252, of Huntington, NY, was stopped by Walter Burns, 7-0 (5), #214 ½, of Detroit, MI, at 1:57 of the first round of a 6.

In the first round Burns dropped Johnson twice before referee Mark Nelson saw enough and called a halt.

Super Light Bryce Mills, 12-1 (4), #138 ½, of Liverpool, NY, defeated Jonathan de Pina, 12-2 (5), #138 ½, of Boston, MASS, over 6 rounds.

Referee Mark Nelson and scores 59-55 and 60-54 twice.532765
