Ryan Garcia warns Gervonta Davis: “I’m going to break your jaw”

By Brian Webber: Ryan Garcia sounded menacing and cold on Thursday during the final press conference, shooting a warning to Gervonta Davis that he’s going to be on the canvas with a broken jaw courtesy of his left hook smash on Saturday night at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vas, Nevada.

Ryan (23-0, 19 KOs) let Tank know today that he’s playing for keeps and will be looking to damage his jaw while knocking him out.

Showing that his intentions aren’t entirely cruel, Ryan said that he wants Gervonta to continue to carry on with his career after his loss on Saturday, but he’ll be doing it with his perfect record marred.

Obviously, Tank won’t be looked at the same if he gets viciously knocked out by Ryan, but he’ll have made a lot of money from the fight.

Is it better if Tank Davis loses?

On the positive side, if Tank loses, it would assure him a lucrative rematch, which could see him receive an even bigger purse than in this fight, depending on the pay-per-view receipts. It’s probably better for Tank if he loses on Saturday because if he wins, the demand for a rematch with Ryan won’t be there from fans.

Instead, they’ll want Tank to fight the winner of the Devin Haney vs. Vasily Lomachenko fight or Shakur Stevenson. Those aren’t fights that would make comparable money to a rematch against Ryan Garcia, who has 9 million followers on Instagram, with many of them ready to purchase the second clash on PPV.

Presumably, the rematch splits have already been worked out during the negotiations for this fight, so it wouldn’t be surprising if Tank still receives the more significant purse split, even with him coming off a loss.

Ryan Garcia: “I just need a single shot. Just one. This one. Trust me. The left hook,” said Ryan Garcia during Thursday’s final press conference for his fight with Gervonta Davis on Saturday night. ”

“When I touch anything, you’re going to sleep. I feel like I’m going to break your jaw with a hook. I just see you on the floor with a broken jaw.”

Gervonta Davis: “Don’t even bring your mother or your daughter. Don’t bring them,” said Tank to Ryan.

“He don’t have the fundamentals at all. If Joe Goossen was such a great trainer, fix his fundamentals. This guy don’t have no fundamentals at all; he’s relying on a weak a** hook. That’s all. That’s all he’s relying on. No defense, no footwork, no head movement,
