By Allan Fox: Ryan Garcia vs. Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis fight will be taking place on April 15th on Showtime & DAZN pay-per-view in Las Vegas, provided there are no injuries sustained in Tank’s tune-up match on January 7th in Washington, DC.

Mike Coppinger is reporting the news of the April 15th date for the Davis-Ryan fight, but again, it’ll come down to whether Gervonta (27-0, 25 KOs) makes it through his January 7th fight without suffering a cut or any other type of injury that would take time to recover from.

There’s a possibility that Ryan (23-0, 19 KOs) will take a tune-up as well, which makes it even riskier that one of them will get hurt.

“Ryan Garcia vs. Tank Davis, what’s up? Are you guys excited about the fight?” said Oscar De La Hoya via Fight Hub TV.”It’s going to be one of those fights that you don’t want to miss, that’s for sure.

“I’m super excited. I literally want to bring the best fights, and that’s what we do best. Ryan wanted this fight, and Tank wants this fight.

“We’ve come to terms, and we’ve bent over backward, making everything happen and making sure everybody’s happy. All we need to do is sign on the dotted line. That’s basically it.

“I’m happy that DAZN and Showtime are going to work together to bring you guys this special fight.

Let’s talk about who is going to win. I have to go with Ryan, obviously, because he’s my Golden Boy fighter, but not only that. I think Ryan has the speed, the power, the intellect, and the ring generalship; he has the height; he has the quick twitch movements.

“It’s going to be interesting; it’s going to be fun. It’s going to be fun to watch. It’s one of those fights where whoever makes the first mistake is going to get caught and possibly get knocked out. This is why you don’t want to miss this fight. So, we’ll see.

“Anyway, we’re close. We’re waiting for the contracts to be signed. That’s basically it, both fighters want it. We all agreed on everything, and like I said, we’re extremely proud to bring you this big fight.

“I do want to touch on Crawford and Spence as well. Look, these are complicated negotiations and nothing is easy, especially when you’re representing yourself.

“I promise you that these negotiations are not what they seem to a lot of the experts out there. A lot of the people think they’re experts, but it’s not easy,” said De La Hoya.
