By Ken Hissner: Recently Super Lightweight champion Josh Taylor gave up his WBA title. Was it because he’s tired of paying these organizations a fee every time he defends a title? He still has the WBC, WBO and IBF to contend with.

It would be nice only having one champion in each division but there are too few of them today.

Heavyweights have Oleksandr Usyk the IBF, WBO and WBA champion and Tyson “The Gypsy King” Fury the WBC champion. Usyk is scheduled to fight Anthony “AJ” Joshua in August.

Cruiserweights have Arsen “Feroz” Goulamirian the WBA champion, Ilunga Junior Makabu the WBC champion, Jai Opetaia the IBF champion who won in July and Lawrence Okolie the WBO champion.

Light Heavyweights have WBC, WBO and IBF champion Artur Betterbiev and WBA champion Dmitrii Bivol.

Middleweights have WBA and IBF champion Golovkin, WBO champion Andrade and WBC champion Charlo. Golovkin is fighting Saul “Canelo” Alvarez for his four Super Middleweight titles in September.

Super Welterweight have Jermell “Iron Man” Charlo who has WBO, WBA, WBC and IBF titles. The welterweights with Errol “The Truth” Spence having WBA, WBC and IBF champion and Terence “Bud” Crawford WBO champion are talking about moving up in weight win or lose. Bob Arum of Top Rank claims Spence and Crawford are pricing themselves out of unifying.

At Lightweight Devin “The Dream” Haney has WBA, WBO, WBC and IBF titles an October rematch with George Kambosos who lost his three titles to the WBC champion Haney.

Super Featherweight has Roger Guttierrez WBA champion, Joe Cordina IBF champion and Shakur Stevenson WBC and WBO champion scheduled in September to meet Robson Conceicao and talking about moving up to Lightweight after that.

Featherweight has Leo Santa Cruz WBA champion, Rey Vargas the new WBC champion, Josh Warrington the IBF champion and Emanuel Navarrete the WBO champion scheduled in August to fight Eduardo Baez.

Super Bantamweight Murodjon “MJ” Akhmadalie WBA and IBF champion and Stephen “Cool Boy Steph” Fulton the WBC and WBO champion. Talk is they will be unifying.

Bantamweight has Naoya “Monster” Inoue WBA, WBC and IBF champion with the WBO vacant having the WBC added in June.

Super Flyweight has Juan Francisco Estrada the WBA champion, Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez WBC champion scheduled in September against Israel Gonzalez. Fernando Martinez the IBF champion and Kazuto Ioka the WBO champion.

Flyweights Artem Dalakian WBA champion, Julio Cesar Martinez the WBC champion, Sunny “Showtime” Edwards the IBF champion and Junto Nakatani the WBO champion.

Light Flyweight has Hiroto Kyoguchi the WBA champion, Jonathan “Bomba” Gonzalez WBO champion, Kenshiro “The Amazing Boy” Teraji the WBC champion with the IBF vacant.
