By M. Horomtallah: This Saturday, April 25th, Sadam “World Kid” Ali makes his return to the ring as the co-main event on the Klitschko vs Jenning card at the Madison Square Garden in New-York City.

In his last fight, back in November 2014, Ali fought a tough opponent that many though will be an impossible test for him to pass. Most boxing experts were of the opinion that Luis Abregu was going to be too much for Ali to handle and that he was going to stop him.

That analysis was based on the fact that Abregu, who back then had only lost one fight, a decision to Timothy Bradley, had too much power and experience for Ali. Obviously there was reason for concern since out of his 36 wins, Abregu had 29 big wins coming by way of knock-out, not to mention “la grinta” that most Argentinian fighters have in them.

Sadam Ali passed his step-up test with flying colors stopping Abregu in the 9th round. However, beyond the knock-out, it was what Ali brought to the table that got a great deal of boxing fans and experts excited. He displayed various skills : ring general ship, an above average ring IQ, great movement, counter-punching, slick boxing, discipline and power. The total package!

He was able to use all of those skills against a solid opponent and he did it in great fashion. That’s the reason why HBO wanted him back and Golden Boy Promotions just gave him a contract extension, with Oscar De La Hoya himself saying that Sadam has a great future ahead of him and that he will soon get a title shot.

On Saturday night, Ali will be facing Francisco Santana, a hungry fighter who will be looking for a win against Ali to put him on the map. Obviously, Sadam has something else in mind and will be eager to send a message and show why he belong with the top dogs at the welterweight division.

Fans who might still not be too familiar with Sadam Ali, this might be a great opportunity to see him in action on HBO and form their own opinion of how he’ll perform against the elite at the 147 pounds division. One thing is certain ; Sadam Ali is on his way to the top and he might just become the face of Golden Boy Promotions along with Canelo.
