How many Hall of Famers has Mayweather beaten?

floyd#900By James P Sexton: Floyd Mayweather Jr has beaten so many world champions at this point in his career that it is too long to make a list detailing each one.

In fact at this point Mayweather has fought in more title fights than non title fights throughout his career. Where he stacks up against the super elite of the sport will always be up for debate, but at this point I would have to say he has already guaranteed himself a spot amongst the top fifteen.

Throughout his career his level of opposition has risen and dropped. At this moment back to back decisions over Marcos Maidana has to be viewed as somewhat of a low point, but with a possible showdown with equally decorated champion Manny Pacquiao being discussed for this year, it could see a sharp rise. Pacquiao would most certainly add another Hall of Famer to his resume, but how many would he have beaten going into that fight?

The first candidate would be Floyd’s first ever title fight opponent which was Genaro Hernandez. Hernandez was the WBC, WBA and lineal champ at super featherweight and retired with only two losses (Mayweather and De La Hoya.) After that he beat both Diego Corrales and Jose Luis Castillo, neither would be a shoe in for the hall of fame, but each fighter has the right to be in the discussion. Both achieving world title honors.
