By Chris Williams: Showtime will be giving a sneak peek into the training camps of WBA/WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr (46-0, 26 KOs) and Marcos Maidana (35-4, 31 KOs) tonight in their ALL Access: Mayweather vs. Maidana 2 episode tonight at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT.

The preview show is intended to give boxing fans a look at Mayweather and Maidana before their “Mayhem” Showtime pay-per-view fight next month on September 13th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Boxing fans have been looking forward to the Mayweather-Maidana rematch ever since the fight was first announced.

Some fans believe that Maidana has the fighting style to give Mayweather his first loss of his career. They feel that Maidana has the style to finally crack the May-Vinci code; whereas other boxing fans believe that Mayweather is going to clown Maidana this time by boxing his ears off and making him look like a limited slugger.

Both fighters have been training like mad to get in the best shape possible, because there’s so much riding on this fight in terms of money and career accomplishment. Mayweather already beat Maidana once, but he gave up a few rounds in the fight last May. Losing three rounds is something Mayweather doesn’t want to happen again, so he’s elected to fight Maidana again in order to do a better job and possibly knock him out this time. Mayweather has reportedly improved his punching power in training camp, and he feels confident that he’s going to get a one-sided win over Maidana on September 13th.

Tonight’s All Access Mayweather vs. Maidana 2 episode will show the aftermath of their previous fight last May by letting boxing fans see a brief replay of the fight, and then give them an opportunity to go behind the scenes to see both fighters’ moments after the fight. You’ll get to see Mayweather celebrating his hard-fight victory, and you’ll see the agony of defeat with Maidana and his trainer Robert Garcia trying to come to terms with their loss.

The All Access episode wouldn’t be complete unless it touches on the glove issue, with discussion over Maidana not being able to wear his Everlast MX puncher’s gloves, which Mayweather objected to him wearing due to what he felt was a lack of padding over the knuckle area of the gloves. As of now, they still haven’t officially solved the glove issue, because Maidana and Garcia still want the MX gloves. It’s doubtful that they’ll be able to use those gloves due to Mayweather being the A-side and them being the B-side in the fight. But by mentioning the gloves continuously, they could plant an early excuse for a loss on September 13th in the minds of boxing fans. If Maidana loses badly to Mayweather, he can potentially say that the outcome would have been different had he been allowed to wear his MX puncher’s gloves? Some boxing fans will obviously buy that excuse.

Mayweather is hoping that the referee does his job to control Maidana’s fouling in this fight. We’re likely to hear about Mayweather’s complaints about Maidana fighting dirty. Maidana was able to use various roughhouse tactics last May against Mayweather without the referee Tony Weeks taking points off. If Maidana isn’t able to use those tactics in the rematch, it could limit his effectiveness.

All Access will give boxing fans a glimpse tonight into Mayweather’s beautiful cars, his huge mansion and the beautiful people that surround him on a daily basis. Being the No.1 money maker in all sports, Mayweather has the best that money can buy with his opulent lifestyle. He works hard for his money, but he lives well. Fans will get a chance to see the kind of lifestyle that Mayweather lives, and it’s going to be a real treat for them.
