Image: Guerrero: Khan can't take a punch; it's not Roach's faultBy William Mackay: Former three division world champion Robert Guerrero was turned off recently when hearing some of the comments that Amir Khan had made about his former trainer Freddie Roach. Khan had said this about Roach according to examiner.com “It’s hard to see him older and getting worse…Freddie, with the Parkinson’s disease, he was struggling with instructions and couldn’t move as well.”

Khan recently let Roach go as his trainer is now being trained by Virgil Hunter. The timing for Khan letting Roach go came after Khan had suffered a 4th round TKO loss to WBC light welterweight champion Danny Garcia last month. This was Khan’s second loss in a row, as he’d been beaten by Lamont Peterson last December. Some boxing fans think that Khan is using Roach as the scapegoat for his struggles in the ring, and he comments that Khan made about Roach has upset more than a few people including Guerrero.

Speaking with writer Chris Robinson at Examiner.com, Guerrero said this about Khan: “Khan just don’t have a chin…I take my hat off to Danny Garcia…The guy can’t take a punch. You can’t blame that on Freddie Roach.”

In fairness to Khan, he came back and said on his twitter that he wasn’t blaming Roach for his loss and that he felt he needed to go with another trainer.

Khan is fighting Carlos Molina on December 15th in Los Angeles, California on Showtime. This is a considerable drop off from Khan’s last opponent Danny Garcia in terms of size, power and experience. Molina doesn’t have the same kind of advantages that Garcia had, so Khan has a good chance of doing well in this fight. However, it remains to be seen whether he’ll be able to take a good head shot from Molina because he’s already been quite open about what his game plan will be for trying to beat Khan.

Molina is going to go for Khan’s head and load up with every shot to try and take advantage of that weakness that he has in his chin. Molina would be crazy not to try and tap Khan’s chin, because he’s already been knocked out by lightweight Breidis Prescott and now Garcia. Marcos Maidana had Khan out on his feet in their fight in December 2010, but couldn’t finish him off.
