Image: Pacquiao’s plan to bring back his old self against Marquez might put an end to the dream fight!By Juan dela Cruz: Boxing history’s lone eight-division champion Manny Pacquiao (54-4-2, 38 KO’s) will be facing Juan Manuel Marquez for the fourth time this coming December 8, 2012 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. With the outcome of their last three fights, Pacquiao, and even Freddie Roach, knew he can’t afford to win only by decision against Marquez. Pacquiao said he needs to be aggressive and bring back the old Pacquiao when he was relentless in destroying bigger and stronger opponents by his speed packed with power.

This may sounds good for the boxing public as it will mean a better entertainment, but there could also be problems especially if Pacquiao will brutally defeat Marquez as what his fans are clamoring for. This could mean that the dream fight will no longer happen. You guess it right folks; I’m talking about Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight.

Remember, one of the reasons why Floyd was avoiding Pacquiao, as what he said in an interview, was that his health comes first. He even stated that Pacman was just walking through the punches of Mosley, Margarito and Cotto and that could mean Pacquiao was into PED use which Floyd later on denied having said that in an out of court settlement of the lawsuit filed by Manny against Floyd. By that statement, even a 5th grader understands that Floyd doesn’t want to face Manny because he knew he can be destroyed by Pacman in the same fashion as those of fighters that Manny had brutally dealt with. Floyd clearly doesn’t want to be in the same shoes as that of Oscar dela Hoya quitting while in stool, Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito with bloodied and rearranged faces and with cracked orbital bone, or worse, that of Ricky Hatton grasping for air as he lied motionless on the canvass not knowing what hit him only at the second round.

With the lawsuit being settled for good, everybody thought that the fight will eventually happen especially now that Manny is willing to undergo random blood and urine test and also his willingness to accept lesser purse. But still, Floyd continues to avoid Manny. If ever Manny Pacquiao will be able to bring back his old self come December 8 against Juan Manuel Marquez and brutally send him to canvass with bloodied face, the dream fight isn’t going to happen. Floyd will be scared to death, and will continue to make excuses after excuses just to avoid Manny.
