The 35-year-old Adamek, #4 IBF, #9 WBC and 32-year-old Solis, #5 IBF, #11 WBC, are within striking distance of a title shot against IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko, and perhaps the quickest way to get a shot in 2013 is for Adamek and Solis to fight one another.

Adamek looked terrible in defeating journeyman Travis Walker last Saturday night by a 4th round TKO victory. Adamek was knocked down by Walker in the 2nd round and ended up taking a ton of head shots before he was able to turn the fight around, and move on to get the win.

Solis has fought only once since injuring his leg and getting stopped in the 1st round by WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko last year in March. Solis required three separate surgeries to have his right knee repaired. A flabby looking Solis came back last May and defeated Konstantin Airich by an unimpressive 12 round unanimous decision.

The 6’1″ Solis weighed 267 lbs for that fight and looked in terrible shape for a professional athlete. Solis looked in poor shape even for a non-athlete and it’s shocking at how badly out of shape he got.
