Image: Pacquiao will take more punishment from Marquez in this fight than the three previous fightsBy Chris Williams: You can expect that Manny Pacquiao is going to take a massive amount of punishment against Juan Manuel Marquez when they fight on December 8th. Compared to the last three fights, Pacquiao is going to take much more punishment in this fight than likely all three combined if he’s able to last the full 12 rounds with the Mexican warrior.

Why is that? Because Pacquiao has already said that he plans on fighting aggressive like he did in the first fight with Marquez. Pacquiao and his trainer Freddie Roach seem to be going on the belief that the reason why he’s struggled in his last two fights is because he’s not fighting aggressively like he once could years ago. Instead of realizing that his body can’t do the things that he once could due to old age setting in, Pacquiao is going to try and will himself to fight harder.

Needless to say, it’s going to cause Pacquiao to take a terrifying amount of punishment from Marquez if he tries to actually carry out what he’s been saying. Marquez also is talking about fighting more aggressively after losing his last two fights with Pacquiao and feeling like he was jobbed in both fights. Marquez actually feels that he was jobbed in all three fights with the Filipino, and it’s harder to argue against that.

Marquez did out-box Pacquiao rather easily in all three fights, and the only thing that Pacquiao did was knocked him down a handful of times while appearing to lose all the other rounds. In watching all three fights, it’s hard to give Pacquiao any rounds other than ones he scored knockdowns in because Marquez simply put on a clinic in out-boxing him.

Pacquiao can’t move like he used to. The legs just aren’t there any more for him like they once were. He reminds me of a butterfly that has lost his ability to fly. Pacquiao is so much more vulnerable now compared to the way he used to be several years ago, because he can’t move well, and he also has problems fighting hard for the full three minutes of every round. If Pacquiao can’t move or fight hard against Marquez, then he’s doomed to take a lot of punishment. His faces is going to get swelled up, cut up and badly bruised from Marquez’s shots.

Marquez is a lot stronger now compared to many of his previous fights, and with that power he’s able to really punish Pacquiao. It’s going to be bad if Pacquiao can’t find the wheels to get away from him or fight hard enough to match the incoming shots with his own punches. Getting old is bad, but it’s worse in boxing because of all the punishment a fighter has to take. Having Marquez pound on you for 12 rounds can’t be a good thing. Pacquiao won’t be able to get away from him because he’s lost his ability to move and fight hard. This means that Pacquiao is going to have to try and make a stand in maybe go down swinging. It’ll be sad of course to the Filipino get knocked out, but that’s the way it is in the sport. The old get beaten and the physically younger fighters keep moving ahead.
