Image: Pacquiao: I winked at HBO during the Bradley fight, because he couldn't beat meBy Chris Williams: To show you how overconfident and out of touch Manny Pacquiao was last Saturday night, he said he winked at HBO during the 10th round, because he thought he had the fight in the bag against Tim Bradley. Pacquiao was totally gassed out, and yet he was winking, as if he doing a good job. How sad.

Pacquiao said to Sports.inquirer.net “I was in total control. Fact is, in the 10th round, I’ve been winking to the HBO people because I know Bradley can’t beat me anymore.”

Can you believe that? Pacquiao winking at the time of the fight that Bradley was taking control over the bout and winning the championship rounds. Anyone with two eyes can see that Bradley was pushing the fight against an exhausted, constantly missing Pacquiao.

How can Pacquiao been so out of touch that he thought he was dominating the action? He was getting schooled by Bradley in the last four rounds. Bradley had already won enough rounds in the first half of the fight to ensure that he would get the decision.

This is how it goes I guess with some fighters. They’re always the last ones to know that their losing and not looking good anymore. I just hope that Pacquiao doesn’t stay in denial when he takes further losses in the future. He already got a gift decision in his last fight against Juan Manuel Marquez last November, and should have two losses in a row. Pacquiao had excuses for that questionable win, blaming it on him having family problems. At some point Pacquiao is going to have to wake up and smell the coffee that the skills are eroding and that he may need to hang up the gloves before he starts getting beaten every time out.
