Khan: Bradley won’t be the same fighter at 147 that he was at 140

Image: Khan: Bradley won't be the same fighter at 147 that he was at 140By William Mackay: Amir Khan may be coming off of a defeat at the hands of Lamont Peterson last December, but that’s not keeping Khan from taking shots at what many people in the boxing world feel is the best fighter at light welterweight in Tim Bradley.

Khan doesn’t think Bradley will be the same fighter at welterweight than he was at light welterweight, and he’s picking Manny Pacquiao to defeat Bradley on Saturday night.

Khan told thesun.co.uk “I don’t think Bradley will be the same fighter at 147lbs as he was at 140lbs. He thinks he’s a better fighter at 147lbs, which I don’t think is the case because he doesn’t have the power to knock Manny out or any other fighter at that weight.”

How does Khan know what kind of power that Bradley has? He hasn’t even fought him, and yet he’s coming across like he knows what kind of power he has. I think Khan needs to stop losing fights before be can start giving predictions and such. With him losing, it’s hard to take him seriously. Another loss for Khan in his next fight against WBC light welterweight champion Danny Garcia on July 14th, and I don’t know what Khan will do then. Two losses in four years against less than stellar opposition is one thing, but three losses tells you that Khan may be better at the domestic or European level than he is at the world level, unless he’s okay with being a gatekeeper type fighter.

Bradley has fought in the past at welterweight against Luis Carlos Abregu in 2010, and Bradley looked pretty good at defeating this hard hitting fighter. Abregu has power equivalent to Pacquiao for a single punch. He’s not as fast as Pacquiao obviously, but he hits hard. Bradley is a real live dog in this fight on Saturday against Pacquiao.
