Price: Fury is not on my agenda; he had his chance

Image: Price: Fury is not on my agenda; he had his chanceBy Scott Gilfoid: In a nice self defeating move, unbeaten British heavyweight champion David Price (13-0, 11 KO’s) says that undefeated former British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion Tyson Fury isn’t on his radar despite the fact that it would be a huge fight for him and it would go a long way to proving people wrong about him having a glass jaw.

Price said this as quoted by RingTV “Fury is not on my agenda, because he had the chance to defend these British and Commonwealth belts against me, but he decided to relinquish and go elsewhere.”

Fury didn’t take the fight because there was no real money in the fight at the time, but there is now that Price defeated Sam Sexton. It’s sad that Price would choose not to take a fight against Fury when that makes the most sense right now. I just wonder if this whole ‘he’s not on my agenda’ thing will start leaking into other opponents like David Haye, Dereck Chisora and Kubrat Pulev.

If so, then you can kind of get an idea that there’s some possible fear there on Price’s part. We’ve already seen him say recently that he’s not quite ready to take on the Klitschkos now, so there’s a little more of the ‘he’s not on my agenda’ stuff going on there. I’m just wondering who the heck is on Price’s agenda. I can only imagine who the guy is. My guess is someone safe along the same lines as Sexton, someone who won’t dent his chin.

The weird thing about all this is that Price recently said that if he doesn’t move up to guys like Fury, Haye and Chisora then he’d be taking a step backwards. Well, what is it then? If you’re not going to face Fury, the isn’t that a step backwards? Sheesh! Get off the pot and start fighting someone already before you age to the point where you’re no longer relevant.
