Tyson Fury shut down the possibility of a fight between him and Anthony Joshua being staged at Wembley Stadium in London. He crushed the hope of British fans that his mega-fight with Joshua would be at home in the UK.
Of course, the scenario won’t matter if he gets royally thrashed by Oleksandr Usyk on May 18th and again in the rematch. Why would they want to pay gazillions to a twice-beaten down-and-out Fury to fight Joshua?
They would be more eager to stage a match between Joshua and Usyk in their country. Fury would be useless and ignored. The “beautiful diamond” Fury would be transformed into a cheap cubic zirconia and on the outs.
British Fans Get the Cold Shoulder
Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) points out that with the $200 million the Saudis will be putting up for a fight between him and Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs), it doesn’t make sense for them to do it in another country.
British fans won’t like what WBC heavyweight champion Fury says because many hoped his fight with Joshua would happen in the UK. I never saw any chance in this world that the Fury vs. Joshua fight would happen in the UK.
As long as the Saudis are interested in this pair, that fight will occur in Saudi Arabia. If they lose interest, you’ll see them battle in the UK.
