Image: I expect Bute to suffer from the fists of FrochBy Mark Havey: Saturday will see the thrilling Carl Froch face off against the unbeaten Lucian Bute in a bid to become the IBF super-middleweight champion. The fight is intriguing and both men deserve respect. Froch hasn’t had a rest from elite fights for a while, taking tough fights one after another.

Bute is the champion but has agreed to face Froch in his home down of Nottingham in front of very loyal fans who will no doubt prove to be hostile.

This is a very good fight which I have been looking forward to for a while. I’m sure Bute watched the fight between Ward and Froch. This fight would have given him supreme confidence as Froch looked slow and awkward. But I hope Bute has looked at Froch’s strengths and not just his flaws. He is very motivated by his fans and he will have a packed house full of them cheering his name. Froch isn’t the best boxer in the world but he has one strength that no other fighter can match him with, his heart. Carl Froch is stupidly valiant and punches just seem to bounce off his head when he is on form.

Here is how I think the fight will play out. Froch will come out weary after his last fight. Bute will come out confident after seeing his opponents lack of speed. After a few rounds Froch will grow in confidence and Bute’s will diminish after seeing Froch grow along with the cheers of the Nottingham faithful. I can see a late Stoppage.
