Warren sees this as a crossroads fight for the 35-year-old Froch, and he believes his ability to get big fights could be hurt if he loses to Bute.

Warren, however, is offering Froch a chance to fight for the WBO light heavyweight title against champion Nathan Cleverly should Froch lose on Saturday.

I don’t know about you but I think that’s very kind for Warren to do so. I mean, where else is Froch going to go if he loses this fight? He’s already lost two out of his last four fights, and you can make a strong argument that Froch should have lost to Andre Dirrell. That would make three losses out of his last five fights. If Froch losses to Bute, that would make four losses out of his last six fights. Heck, that’s journeyman material, isn’t it? By all means take the fight with Cleverly.

Warren said to thesun.co.uk in his column there “For Froch, my offer stands for him to face WBO light heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly.”

I think that’s swell of Warren to do so. Froch should scoop up that fight because I don’t see where Froch can go after he gets spanked by Bute. Andre Ward already beat him, and if Froch wanted to fight for the WBO strap, he’d have to get in line behind Arthur Abraham, as he’s facing WBO champion Robert Stieglitz next.

Abraham isn’t going to take any tough fights in his first defense after he beats Stieglitz. He’ll follow his old custom of taking a bottom 15 guy for an easy title defense. Froch will have to work his way to a title shot against Abraham and that could take years unless Abraham had an interest in fighting Froch again. I don’t think he’ll take a fight against Froch, because he’ll lose. Froch just needs to move up in weight and face Cleverly for his WBO 175 strap. Froch can win that fight because Cleverly looks like nothing special.
