Image: Bute: I’ll make Froch’s positive energy to work for meBy Scott Gilfoid: IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute notes that his opponent Carl Froch will probably be getting a lot of positive energy from the crowd tomorrow night in Nottingham.

Bute sees Froch as feeding off the crowd cheering and fighting with more energy possibly than he normally does when fighting away from home. However, Bute says he’s going to use that energy to work for him tomorrow night to defeat Froch.

Bute said to the dailystar.co.uk “The public will give him positive energy and I can make it work for me. Obviously the crowd will be all pumped up if he hits me. But I’ve been expecting that ever since I agreed to the fight. Sure, the people in the arena will be against me, I know that. But in the ring it’s going to be just me and him.

Bute is obviously talking about setting traps for Froch to make him pay for being too eager by landing hard body shots and uppercuts to the head when Froch comes rushing in like he normally does against his opponents.

When Froch isn’t rushing in, he’s a pretty average fighter as we saw in his loss to Mikkel Kessler in April 2010. Froch stayed on the outside for most of that fight and it cost him big time because he didn’t have the skills to beat the boxer/puncher Kessler.

It was only until late in the fight that Froch decided to start attacking Kessler without abandon. But against Bute, that’ll work against Froch if he gets excited by the crowd and decides to bum rush Froch. He’ll get stopped if he makes a mad rush at Bute expecting to land his shots, because Bute will land a single bow to Froch’s midsection and take him out.
