Image: Arum: Tim Bradley looks ripped and ready for Pacquiao fightBy Dan Ambrose: Bob Arum liked what he saw of his fighter Tim Bradley when he dropped by Bradley’s gym this week to look in on him to check his condition for his fight against Manny Pacquiao on June 9th.

Arum said this to the Manila Bulletin: “He looks ripped and ready.”

Indeed, Bradley looks in superb shape almost like a gymnast or a body builder. He looks ready to take Pacquiao’s head off with one swing. Not only that, but Bradley is showing a lot of fire and seems really eager to get in the ring with Pacquiao to take his World Boxing Organization title.

In contrast, Pacquiao doesn’t have the same fresh, youthful and energetic look that Bradley has. My thoughts are when looking at Pacquiao that he looks like a fighter that is starting to get burned out from the whole fight process.

He’s had so many fights, taken so many shots, and it just looks like he’s going through the motions at this point in his career. I guess only Pacquiao can know for sure whether he still has the drive and determination that he once had in his career. But in looking at him train, I don’t see the fire in Pacquiao that was there back in 2009 when he fought Miguel Cotto for their catchweight championship fight.

Without fire and determination, Pacquiao will lose this fight to Bradley because he’s too tough for Pacquiao to beat without giving it his all. Pacquiao didn’t look good in his fight against Juan Manuel Marquez nor in his fight before that against Shane Mosley. He’s missing something and I don’t know that he can ever get it back at this point in his career. Some of it may be age, some may be him having taken too many shots, and maybe a big part of it is he looks bored by it all. Pacquiao probably needs to retire.
