Can Pacquiao win without Ariza?

Image: Can Pacquiao win without Ariza?By Allan Fox: Right now there’s a big question mark floating around the Manny Pacquiao camp about whether his strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza will be allowed to come back to the fold when Pacquiao switches over to training at the Los Angeles based Wildcard Gym.

Ariza recently left Pacquiao’s training camp in the Philippines go give some badly needed conditioning to the always huge WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in the U.S.

This move has upset more than a few of Pacquiao’s big inner circle guys and right now it’s unknown whether Ariza will be given the green light to come back and resume his training of Pacquiao. Ariza was given permission by Pacquiao, but he’s not the type that would tell someone no if asked in a polite manner. But Ariza may have burned his bridges with the Filipino star by leaving his camp to train another fighter in Pacquiao’s hour of need. You can see he badly needs Ariza because of the leg problems he’s been having a lot recently. Pacquiao is facing a tough opponent on June 9th in Timothy Bradley, and there’s no telling who will win the fight.

With Pacquiao having worked with Ariza for such a long time, you have to wonder whether he’ll be able to find success without Ariza’s special training methods to get Pacquiao to the highest level possible. He’s got the power, but without the stamina and the legs, Pacquiao is very beatable against a fighter like Bradley.

If Ariza gets dumped by Pacquiao, there’s no telling whether another strength and conditioning coach will be able to find the perfect conditioning regimen needed for Pacquiao to beat the better fighters in the division like Bradley, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Andre Berto and Victor Ortiz. It may be that Pacquiao can’t win without Ariza magic.
