Image: Abraham: Bute will beat Froch - but Andre Ward is better than ButeBy Scott Gilfoid: Arthur Abraham may be kidding himself if he thinks he can amount to anything at super middleweight and he’ll be incredibly lucky if he can even get by Piotr Wilczewski on Saturday night in their fight in Germany. But I give Abraham this: He knows who the real talent is at super middleweight.

Abraham said this to eastsideboxing.com’s On the Ropes Boxing Radio program in discussing who will win the Carl Froch vs. Lucian Bute fight on May 26th: “Bute will win.”

Ouch! There it is, Froch fans. Abraham has just given the cold brutal truth about Froch by speaking the truth. Froch IS going to lose that fight and lose it badly.

When asked who the best fighter is in the super middleweight division – Andre Ward of Lucian Bute – Abraham said “Andre Ward.”

Abraham is smart, I got to give him that. He’s got a brain on his shoulders. It’s too bad he can’t make middleweight anymore because he isn’t going anywhere at super middleweight. The talent just isn’t there. I expect Abraham to go life and death with Wilczewski tomorrow night and look terrible. I do think Abraham will win, but it’ll be one of those hometown decision jobs where he basically gets out-boxed, out-classed and out-punched 4 to 1, and STILL ends up winning the fight. I hate to say it but I see this as a nice hometown decision for Abraham. I think he’ll win just by staying on his feet and throwing a 10 or so punches in the last 15-20 seconds of every round. He can’t fight more than that without going into vapor lock for three rounds.

Abraham said this about why he won’t get a clue and move back down to middleweight: “We made the decision that I’d stay at super middleweight and I will not fight at middleweight again.”

There it is. He’s on a one way street that’s heading towards retirement because Abraham isn’t going to do anything at super middleweight. He’s too little and too slow.
