Specifically, Garcia saw a fighter that he thought looked scared and spent a lot of time running and fouling.

Garcia told examiner.com writer Chris Robinson “To me he [Khan] looked pretty scared…Khan was running way too much. I don’t give him no credit. He was running, holding, pushing. It didn’t look good.”

Ortiz fought Peterson a year ago and earned a 10 round draw. However, Ortiz fought a cleaner fight and had Peterson down twice in the third round. Where Ortiz blew it was by looking to box in the second half of the fight instead of continuing to go right at Peterson and smash him with his superior power.

It could be that Ortiz was worried about running out of gas and getting stopped like he had in his defeat against Marcos Maidana. But Ortiz appeared to win the Peterson fight and the decision was very questionable.

Garcia likes Ortiz’s chances against Khan if he decides to fight him in the future, saying “I’m pretty sure that if Khan wants to fight Victor, we’ll knock Khan out.”

Ortiz just would have to stay patient and bring a light pair of shoes so that he can have a better chance at chasing Khan down, because Khan will be running all night against Ortiz. If Peterson had Khan running like mad, just imagine what a big puncher like Ortiz would do to him. I like Ortiz in that fight.

Khan says he’s going to move up in weight to the 147 pound division after he fights a rematch against Peterson next year. Khan is assuming he gets by Peterson successfully without another loss. At this point Khan should be the last person to be overlooking an opponent after getting exposed by Peterson last Saturday.
