As far as I can tell, this is the only fight on the card that’s worth watching.

The main event is a sick one that needs life support between WBO light heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly at fringe contender Tony Bellew. It’s one of those all British fights and it’s going to be a mismatch from the very start.

But thankfully, the promoter has decided to put some talent on the card with DeGale, who really should be still unbeaten at this point but was given a bad deal in a questionable loss to the more popular George Groves. Why is Groves more popular than DeGale, the 2008 Olympic Gold Medalist in England, that’s a good question.

I have no idea, because DeGale is the only one who has a legitimate chance of winning a world title. I can’t see Groves winning a title unless it’s a paper belt when the division thins out for into the future after Andre Dirrell, Andre Ward, Mikkel Kessler, and Lucian Bute all move up to light heavyweight.

DeGale is so much better than Wilczewski in this fight. It’s not going to be competitive. But I do think it will be interesting just to watch DeGale work and take notes on how different his fighting style is in this fight. DeGale plans on being much busier than he’s been in the past because he realizes that he has to move his legs quickly to chase down runners after Groves ran from him last time out. Wilczewski will probably be using a great deal of movement to keep out of reach of DeGale with the same kind of hit and run tactic. I don’t see it working, but that’s likely what Wilczewski will be doing.
