Image: Prediction: Haye's loyal fans will have little to cheer about tonightBy Scott Gilfoid: We may have a short rain delay tonight for Wladimir Klitschko vs. David Haye in Hamburg, Germany, but it’s going to be a lot gloomier night for Haye’s loving, loyal fans that have followed him over from Britain to witness first hand his fight with Wladimir. It’s going to be bad for Haye I have to say. I hope Haye’s bring plenty of drink with them and a good crying towel for when Haye fails miserably and ends up getting knocked out.

I feel sorry for the Brits already. Haye is going to get embarrassed in front of the entire world. It’s going to be bad for Haye, and especially bad for his fans, who have traveled all the way from the UK just to see him lose. Haye will be designated as no. 50 for Wladimir, his 50th knockout victim and nothing more than that.

What do you expect? The guy is tiny to begin with and has made things worse for himself by coming into the fight weighing only between 208-212 lbs for a fight against super heavyweight. That’s real smart. I wonder who dreamed that one up. I see this fight getting out of hand in the first couple of rounds when it becomes painfully obvious to Haye that he’s too small and weak to compete with Wladimir.

It’s like a small kid going out on the playground and trying to compete with a much bigger teenager in a game basketball. The kid is going to get dominated immediately and shown that he doesn’t belong on the same court with the bigger kid. This is what I see with Haye and Klitschko. Haye does well against British level domestic fighters and older heavyweights, but the guy has never been in with a talented heavyweight before like Wladimir.

Have you ever thought to yourself why Haye never fought one of the younger or more dangerous heavyweights in the division? I have. Why hasn’t Haye fought Robert Helenius, Ruslan Chagaev, Denis Boytsov, Alexander Povetkin, Samuel Peter or Eddie Chambers? Why has Haye’s fights been against a bunch of old guys? All it’s all about hype. You build a guy up on soft opposition, have him flap his gums a lot like Haye has done, then put him in with a great fighter without Haye having to work his way to the spot. And what do you get? You get a massacre of epic proportions with Haye being used as a rag doll for Wladimir to throw around the ring for 12 rounds – if it lasts that long.
