Haye wants immediate rematch with Wladimir or he’ll retire in October

By Scott Gilfoid: It appears that former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (25-2, 23 KO’s) wants no part of having to work his way back to a rematch with IBF/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (56-3, 49 KO’s). Haye is reportedly saying he wants an immediate rematch with Wladimir, and if that doesn’t happen Haye will be retiring on his 31st birthday on October 13th. If Wladimir doesn’t let Haye have his way, he’s going to take his marbles and go home rather than fighting on like a true warrior.

Haye said this to the guardian.co.uk: “I definitely want to stick to my retirement plans, but when someone beats you, you feel gutted. I’m such a competitive person. I’m going to retire on October 13, but the only person I would break that retirement for is the guy who’s beaten me: Wladimir Klitschko. I don’t have a beef with his brother [Vitali Klitschko]. It’s Wladimir, Wladimir beat me.”

Oh boy, this is sad. Haye doesn’t even want to work his back to a title shot like normal fighters do and wants the red carpet treatment for his royal backside. Is that a joke or what? Haye wants the special treatment reserved for fighters that looking sensational. He wants Wladimir to drop everything and fight him again, so the entire world can throw darts at Wladimir for taking another easy fight. Wladimir gets enough stick as it is. He doesn’t need any more by taking on an easy mark like Haye.

Wladimir has bigger fish to fry than go over old ground by fighting a guy that lacks the courage, the talent and the boxing talent to offer up a decent fight. I’d rather watch Wladimir destroy two British domestic level fighters Tyson Fury and Dereck Chisora rather than watch him have to chase the petrified Haye around the ring for 12 rounds.
