By Jason Kim: WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao (52-3-2, 38 KO’s) weighed in at 145 lbs at Friday’s weight-in for Saturday’s fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is around the same weight that the 32-year-old Pacquiao has weighed for his last three bouts against Antonio Margarito, Joshua Clottey and Miguel Cotto. Pacquiao’s opponent for Saturday, 39-year-old Shane Mosley (46-6-1, 39 KO’s), weighed in at 147 lbs.

This is a good weight for Mosley, as he weighed 147 when he totally dominated Margarito two years ago in a 9th round stoppage in 2009. In Mosley’s last fight, he weighed 154 for his 12 round draw against Sergio Mora last year in September. Mosley looked sluggish at that weight and appeared to be fighting out of his weight class. 147 is a good weight for him and he could open some eyes if he’s as quick and active as he was in the Margarito bout.

This would be a huge upset because Pacquiao is favored to win by most boxing experts due to his wins over the likes of Ricky Hatton, Cotto, Margarito, Clottey and Oscar De La Hoya in the past few years. Those were decent fighters but each of them were struggling at the time of their fights with Pacquiao. In the case of De La Hoya, he was a part time fighter who was on his last leg and weakened from a bad diet to get down to the 147 limit for the fight.

Other weights on the card:

Jorge Arce 122 – Wilfredo Vasquez 122
Kelly Pavlik 170 – Alfonso Lopez 169
Mike Alvarado 139 – Ray Narh 140
