It’s quite a mouthful to say, which is apt, because it feeds a starved division with a super fight leaving boxing fans salivating in expectation.

It has it all on paper. Two impressive knock out punchers who haven’t tasted defeat in seven years, an intense feud and a shared desire to destroy the other man on fight night. One man will almost certainly leave the Imtech Arena on the 2nd July with a valid point proven.

Should Haye muster the victory it would silence many of his critics and leave the younger Klitschko in a boxing void for the first time in over half a decade. If Klitschko wins then he will have taught yet another arrogant challenger a lesson in both manners and boxing. At the same time he will have single-handedly destroyed David Haye’s career ambitions with brutal finality.

So far the build up to this bout has been both comical and irritating in equal measure. ‘Dr Steelhammer’ has amusingly promised to give David Haye a ‘pizza face’, whilst the Brit has heralded the Klitschko brothers as boring and, in the same breath, he venomously accused them of ‘killing’ boxing.

The truth is that David Haye made a startling point here. Despite their popularity, it is a common view that the Klitschkos are no longer exciting fighters to watch and with the up rise in interest of Mixed Martial Arts, boxing desperately needs to create more frenzied excitement in its own Heavyweight division. MMA has had the likes of Brock Lesnar and Fedor Emelianenko generating huge interest in its Heavyweight division in recent years, despite the fact that they didn’t even fight in the same sect of the sport. However, both of these massively popular fighters have recently went into their own decline through unexpected defeats.

And so David Haye v. Wladimir Klitschko may well be boxing’s big chance to attract back a lot of disillusioned fans; fans who had understandably grown tired of one-sided affairs between the Ukrainian brothers and a lot of unfit and incapable competitors. At this time David Haye is one of boxing’s most physically impressive fighters. He is as popular with some as he is loathed by many, but more importantly he is in his prime and has openly declared that the potential double against the Klitschko brothers will be his last two fights. This is hugely newsworthy stuff for fight fans.

A victory for David Haye against Wladimir would be fantastic news for boxing. Disappointed Klitschko fans would soon cheer up at the prospect of Haye suffering a mauling from an extremely angry Vitali, whilst David Haye’s support will be nervously apprehensive in anticipation for what would be their man’s final fight before retirement. An all or nothing bout right at the very end of his career. Whether you like him or loath him, what more could you ask for in terms of excitement?

Dr. Steelhammer versus The Hayemaker should be a feast to attract many, many hungry fight fans across the globe. Fans of nail biting action should disregard their opinions of David Haye for this one and root for the Brit, because victory for Haye would rejuvenate boxing by setting up the division’s most eagerly anticipated fight since Lewis v. Tyson.
