Image: Haye says his problems with Wladimir are over ticket allocationsBy William Mackay: WBA heavyweight champion David Haye complains that his recent problems with IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko are over ticket allocations with Wladimir’s German fans getting first dibs on the tickets. They’re press conferences for Tuesday and Wednesday have been cancelled. Haye’s trainer Adam Booth is reportedly traveling to Germany to try and iron out the problem this week.

Speaking with the mirror, Haye said “The Klitschko brothers are giving me a headache over tickets for my traveling fans…I’m not going to roll over and let them get their way with the tickets. I want a fair allocation and at good prices. My fans have been loyal and I don’t want a single one to be disappointed this time.”

Haye may have to settle for what he can get unless he wants to cancel the fight and continue defending his title against the likes of Audley Harrison and John Ruiz. Haye has put himself in the bad position where he pretty much has to take what is given to him because he’s planning on retiring in October. If he wants to make sure he gets the good payday against Wladimir, he pretty much has to agree to whatever he wants because he doesn’t have the time to walk away from the fight and pick it up later. Haye can can always fight his mandatory challenger southpaw Ruslan Chagaev. However, there is a real danger that Haye would be knocked out in that fight because Chagaev isn’t 38 or 39 like a lot of Haye’s opponents at heavyweight and he has good power and can fight. Chagaev would have an excellent chance of beating Haye.
