Response to – Morales lost to Maidana because he didn’t throw enough punches and was too weak, double standards?

By Mark Hepplestall: After reading the article with the above title I picked out the key selling line to this article, which was “Maidana landed more punches and threw the harder shots. That’s how you win” when looking at this statement that is not totally true, boxing is the sweet science, it is the sport of hitting without getting hit in return.

This article is to compare what this writer said to what he calls the biggest fix in history, it is the total opposite to what he has said in his other articles about the Froch vs Dirrel match.

In the Froch Vs Dirrel fight he writer in question insists that by making Froch miss wildly and landing a few shots here and there was enough for Dirrel to win the match, in reality it wasn’t enough as Froch in very similar circumstances to Maidana won the match. Both Froch and Maidana both came forward and were correctly or incorrectly given points for pressure even if it was effective pressure or not. Both boxers walked a fine line with the referee and were lucky to not get points deductions and lastly even though the style of the opposition was different they both possibly had to get saved by the referee, or standing by his comments from the Maidana Vs Morales match, both Froch and Maidana deserved a hard fought victory. Thinking about it both Froch and Maidana are actually very similar in style, as they like to come forward, have great power and rely on their chin as defence. Except unlike Maidana if the situation calls for it Froch is a very capable boxer as shown in his previous match.

So when comparing what this writer says from article to article, it is obvious that he is just looking for reactions and most likely as shown in each article he doesn’t know what he is saying, saying one thing in one article and totally going against it in the next. However it is weird that the writer has posted about Morales as he is not British.
