Froch thinks Abraham could knock Ward out on 5/14

By Scott Gilfoid: WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch seemed to be really patting himself on the back for his victory over Arthur Abraham (32-2, 26 KO’s) last November in the Super Six tournament. Froch won the fight by a lopsided 12 round decision over what appeared to be an over-trained and confidence depleted Abraham.

Froch now thinks that Abraham has a chance to beat WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward (23-0, 13 KO’s) in the semifinals of the Super Six tournament on May 14th at the Home Depot Center, in Carson, California. Why Ward would have problems with a fighter that Andre Dirrell and Froch already easily beat is the real question. It almost appears that Froch is a little jealous of because of his incredible talent and because of the many boxing fans that see Ward as the eventual winner of the Super Six tourney.

Froch had this to say about Ward-Abraham at livefight.com: “He [Abraham] could still punch Ward’s lights out…If he lands flush, he has the power power to end any fight. Ward’s got that Olympic gold chocolate pedigree. I reckon he can fiddle and maul his way to a points win over Abraham.”

Gosh, look at that will you. Froch almost seems green with envy at the talent and success of Ward. Froch fought as an amateur like Ward, but he didn’t win a gold medal like Ward did. Froch didn’t even get to the Olympics and had to settle for the world championships. Ward received a gold medal in the 2004 Olympics and has been just as dominating in the pro ranks.
