Image: Foreman faces Wolak on Saturday: Is Pawel a bad style match-up for Yuri?By Tim Nielson: Former WBA junior middleweight champion Yuri Foreman (28-1, 8 KO’s) faces a human punching machine in 29-year-old junior middleweight contender Pawel Wolak (28-1, 18 KO’s) at the MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is the type of guy that Foreman just failed at beating in his loss last June against Miguel Cotto at the Yankee Stadium.

Even before Foreman injured his right knee in the 7th when it collapsed from under him while moving around the ring, he was having problems with Cotto’s constant pressure. All Cotto was doing was coming forward and throwing a hard jab for the most part. Wolak also has a great jab, but he’s equally good at pressuring his opponents in the same way that Cotto is.

What Wolak doesn’t have it Cotto’s power. He hits hard but he’s not in the same league as Cotto in terms of punching to the body and head. This will help Foreman out because he seemed to wilt under the power from Cotto last time out. Foreman needs someone that he can make mistakes against and not pay a huge price for them.

Foreman is hoping to get this win and eventually another shot at fighting Cotto in a rematch. The chances of that happening are fairly remote, however, because Cotto is looking to fight Antonio Margarito in the summer, and he has options available to him in fights against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., Sergio Martinez and even Pacquiao if he can clear the table and beat all those guys. Foreman is someone that Cotto could meet up with after all those fights are over with. Foreman will have to beat Wolak and whoever he fights aftethat for the Cotto rematch to happen.

Wolak will be a problem for Foreman because he’s going to keep Foreman under pressure the entire time. Cotto did well in the past against fighters that didn’t throw a lot of shots like Daniel Santos. However, Wolak is going to be really bringing it on Saturday night and that could be a problem for Foreman.
