Image: Klitschko-Solis to be shown on Epix in U.SBy Jim Dower: The March 19th fight between WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (41-2, 38 KO’s) and Odlanier Solis (17-0, 12 KO’s) will be shown on Epix, a little known American premium channel that isn’t carried by either Comcast or Direct TV. This means that it’s reach for boxing fans in the U.S. hoping to see the Klitschko fight won’t be far.

However, it’s a good thing for those fans that can see it, because Showtime and HBO won’t be showing the Klitschko vs. Solis bout, which will be taking place at the Lanxess-Arena, Cologne, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. HBO and Showtime not showing Klitschko fights isn’t anything new, as HBO gave up showing Klitschko fights on a regular basis a long time ago due to the one-sided nature and the low ratings of the fights. However, the Klitschko brothers still have a lot of fans in the U.S that want to see their fights and with very options to go by, a premium channel like Epix is a breath of fresh air, even it only a small few will be able to see the fight.

In addition to being shown on Epix in the U.S, the Klitschko-Solis fight will streamed live on Epix’s website, although presumably you’ll have to be a member to see it on the web.

The Klitschko vs. Solis fight will likely be a mismatch because of 6’7″ Vitali’s huge size advantage over the short 6’1″ Solis. In their recent press conference, Solis looked tiny next to Vitali, and seemed afraid of him. Solis appeared reluctant to look into the face of Vitali each time the fighters were put near each other, and Vitali glared down at the nervous-looking Solis each time they were face to face. That’s not a good sign.
