Young Boxers Shouldn’t Call Manny Pacquiao Out

By Edgar Solorzano: Boxers are mathematical warriors when battling in the ring. Some may be students or teachers of the game, while others are pure geniuses. They solve unwritten math equations that only few can see, but visible at times in the warriors body when failing a few.

Equations that have two second dead-lines, that require: speed, talent and luck. If they fail a few, it may help them review for the big test. But can lose their money, fame and confidence when failing too many.

Half an inch late and they could possibly feel the force of the equation. Half an inch early and it may change their entire game plan and formulas. Warriors have to get their timing right. However, if they’re a centimeter, inch or second late, they might become a victim of a KO.

The majority of the fight-fans know who the students, teachers and geniuses are in the sport of Boxing. Why are students challenging geniuses like Pacquiao or Mayweather? They believe that they have to fight someone to get a big name, rather than solving those unwritten equations and learning new formulas that will help them in future big fights. How can they fight against a fighter that will give them problems that they’ve never faced before? Why not learn by fighting other students? A very valuable golden element in Boxing is timing. These fighters do not only need to learn to have better timing when fighting, but timing when choosing their opponents. It’s obvious when it’s too late or early to compete at a higher level.

I’m not talking about Shane Mosley or Juan Manuel Marquez. I’m talking about any young fighters that are calling out the best without fighting other fresh talented fighters. Fighters like: Timothy Bradley, Kell Brook, Andre Berto and even Amir Khan. At least Amir Khan has the right mentality and wants to fight other young fresh fighters in the welterweight division before fighting undefeated champ Floyd Mayweather.

Some of these young fresh warriors I’ve mentioned may be the future of Boxing. People were saying that Andre Berto should have been the chosen one to faced Pacquiao, I believe they are wrong. Young fighters like Berto are trying to graduate out of the welterweight division a little too early without taking enough tests to earn some credit. They want to skip all the lectures and want to fight the biggest fighter in the sport. They don’t understand that their time will come one day. There’s plenty of young talent in the welterweight division, and they should take advantage of it. All of these young warriors have at least four good fights before calling out the best.

Andre Berto should face top welterweights like: Antonio Margarito and Miguel Cotto before he considers facing Pacquiao or Mayweather.

Some of you may say I’m wrong and that Pacquiao doesn’t have that many choices. I respect Pacquiao and think he’s a great fighter, but there’s a few warriors that he could fight before facing any of the younger talent. He could fight: Sergio Martinez, Paul Williams, Juan Manuel Marquez or Alfredo Angulo. That’s at least two fights that he could give the fans before fighting a student of the game. By that time, younger talents will at least know more techniques and will have more experience before fighting the pound for pound king.

All of these young students may want to fight the best, but they forget that they are not A fighters yet. They keep forgetting that they need to learn new formulas in order to A’s few more tests and conquer a genius in the square-circle.
