In an article by writer Nick Giongco at the Manila Bulletin, Roach said “By next week, I will start watching tapes. I don’t believe this is going to be easy and it would be a mistake if Manny believes this is an easy fight.”

It’s going to be tough for Roach to come up with a plan for Mosley’s style of fighting because he does a lot of different things in there and isn’t really someone you can beat with movement or an in and out style of fighting.

Those things work on the limited fodder that’s been fed to Pacquiao recently in the past two years from Bob Arum’s Top Rank stable, but Mosley is someone that can actually fight well if he’s got anything left in the tank.

It may come down to Pacquiao having to stand and just fight Mosley if he wants to get the win. Roach probably cringes at the thought but that’s how you beat Mosley if you’re a smaller guy.

Mosley has problems against bigger fighters that can use their size to jab. Pacquiao, 5’6 ½” won’t have the size to dominate Mosley from the outside. Pacquiao will have to try and use his speed on the inside and hope Mosley doesn’t still have his speed to fire back. Pacquiao could end up getting beaten up a little in this fight if Mosley is able to land his shots.
