Image: Chisora says he hits harder than WladimirBy Dave Lahr: IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s) is facing his biggest test in year when he fights unbeaten Dereck Chisora (14-0, 9 KO’s) on April 30th in Mannheim, Germany.

Wladimir, 34, thinks this is going to be another easy fight for him but he’s going to be in for a big surprise because Chisora will be looking to knock Wladimir out and take his titles.

Speaking with eastsideboxing.com, Chisora said “I hit much harder than him. He’s going to try and outbox me like the rest of the Eastern Europeans, and just try to pop the jab out.”

Wladimir’s power is really overrated. His right hand is very average. He never knocks anyone out with his right. Wladimir has a hard enough time just trying to land the thing and when he does, he can rarely summon much power with it.

Wladimir does have a good left hook, but he doesn’t like to throw it if he thinks there’s any chance he can get countered. Wladimir sometimes fights entire bouts without throwing his left hook. No way will Wladimir throw his left hook against Chisora because he’ll be too concerned with getting countered by Chisolra.

Wladimir is going to be left trying to beat Chisora by throwing jabs and nothing more. That’s not going to work against Chisora. It takes a lot more than jabs against a skilled fighter like that. Chisora will get past Wladimir’s jab and then he’s going to pound Wladimir on the inside. Chisora will take full advantage of Wladimir’s lack of an inside game.
