Image: Bradley wants to fight Khan on April 16th: Will Amir agree to this?By William Mackay: Earlier today, WBO light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (27-0, 11 KO’s) volunteered to fight WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (24-1, 17 KO’s) on April 16th in the UK for Khan’s next fight. Bradley, who just finished polishing off WBC light welterweight champion Devon Alexander (21-1, 13 KO’s) last weekend in a 10 round technical decision, is ready to get back in the ring against Khan to prove he’s the best fighter in the division. Will Khan agree to this fight or will he look for a soft touch to further milk his WBA title with?

If Khan is all that some of his fans think he is, he should readily agree to the Bradley fight. If Khan is really better than Bradley, why wait until September to fight him when he’s ready and willing to fight now? I respect Bradley for showing the courage to get in the ring that quickly with Khan. Bradley is a warrior and would quickly be able to put together a strategy to beat Khan and take his title in front of his own British fans.

Khan should take the fight, because he’ll draw a lot more fans on pay-per-view on Sky than he will if he fights someone like John Murray or Michael Katsidis. The only question for Bradley-Khan now is whether HBO would go for that. They won’t want to have Bradley vs. Khan take place in the UK because of the time differences between the U.S. and the UK. It would mean that the fight would end being shown at a much earlier time than HBO wants it to and it won’t work that way.
