By Reynaldo Sanchez – Editor/Boxeoeditores.com – The welter and super welterweight divisions possess some of the best boxers in this epoch. Inside the welterweight they are fighters as Pacquiao, Mayweather, and Martínez fights in both divisions, these three names head the P4P list, ranking that turned into the exegesis in the boxing.

We have of course, others as Juan Manuel Marquez, Berto, Alexander and Khan, which build up his careers in other divisions; there are even other names as Ward, Montiel, Donaire and the everlasting Klitshcko’s brothers who occupy his space in the firmament of stars in the boxing.

In Hollywood Fla. trains a young fighter about whom we will start listening very soon. Brad “King” Solomon is a young man who born in Lafayette, Ga. in May 29th 1983. His record amateur shows us the following: “Three-time National Golden Gloves champion, won the welterweight title in 2005 and light welterweight title in 2006 and 2007. He reaches the semifinals in the light welterweight division of the 2007 U.S. National Amateur Championships. And turn to pro in February 22 of
2008 in Atlanta.”

His professional record shows a KO in June 4th – 2010 on Kenny Galarza, after beat Wilfredo Negron in Hollywood. In August 24-2010, Solomon traveled to Panama to face Pablo Vazquez on October 2nd-2010 in fight for the WBA International welterweight title. Then, in Nicaragua in Pharaohs Casino in Managua he defeat by KO in 2 rounds to Javier Gallegos.

In the last fight against Anges Adjaho, he won by UD in 10 rounds. Solomon possesses according to some experts, the technical and physical condition to reach a title in the welterweight division. In his fight against Adjaho, he shows us the qualities that they mention when compare him with Roy Jones Jr. through 10 rounds imposed his best boxing. Henry Rivalta director of boxing in “The Heavyweight Factory” expressed; “In this moment our goal is the Ukrainian Viacheslav Senchenko (31-0-0) 20 KO’s, WBA welterweight champion. We understand that we can beat him, when Senchenko faces Solomon it will finish his reign”

This will be a big fight, Solomon is a prodigy, his defensive skills are clear in my opinion, and Solomon is the future of the welterweight in North America. Boxers as Khan, Berto, or Alexander they come rising, nevertheless, I think that Brad might hit them, while it obtains 2 or 3 fights. The experience will be determinant in this matter, John David Jackson head trainer in “The Heavyweight Factory” said; “he needs to get
more experience, I believe that after 2 fights he will be ready to face
the big names in this division” I’m in accordance with Jackson.

This week, Brad Solomon starts his training camp to fight against Demetrius Hopkins (30-1-0) 11 KO’s from Philadelphia, next March 18th in the main event in the card that will be televised by ESPN in Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla. And presented by The Heavyweight Factory.

Hopkins is an experienced fighter, his fights against Kendall Holt, Steve Forbes and Jesse Feliciano, they speak about their quality.

North America has looked through long time, a boxer with whom they can identify in the welterweight division. Solomon possesses from my perspective, all the conditions to turn into super star; Skills, intelligence, youth, and the most important thing, the desire to fight against the best. These qualities will push him to the top. The digital press mentions fighters with less technical resources than Solomon, nevertheless, the talent is there. Solomon will turn into the next King in
the welterweight. And possibly in the future he rise up to the super welterweights also. Is a thing of time only so that we see how this young man occupies his site in the world boxing?
