By Jim Dower: Former two division world champion Tomasz Adamek (43-1, 28 KO’s) has finally gotten his wish and will be fighting for a heavyweight title in September against one of the two Klitschko brothers, according to ESPN. The fight will be taking place in Poland, in Warsaw or Wroclaw. It’s going to be taking place in one of the huge stadiums there where Adamek will be able to attract a huge crowd.

As of now, it looks like IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko will get the honor of fighting Adamek unless Wladimir is beaten in his next fight on April 30th against Dereck Chisora. If that happens, then WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko will be the one that takes on Adamek. If both Klitschkos win, it be up to them to decide who will be the one that gets to face Adamek.

This is a fight that you would have to figure that the 6’1” Adamek will have very little chance to win. He’s been carefully matched since moving up to the heavyweight division in 2009, having faced Andre Golota, Jason Estrada, Chris Arreola, Michael Grant and Vinny Maddalone.

Adamek will be fighting again in April against a still to be determined opponent. You can expect that the guy Adamek ends up facing will be pretty much along the same lines of the kinds of heavyweights that Adamek has been facing since moving up in weight from the cruiserweight division. In other words, expect another old, weak and soft opponent for Adamek.

What is worrisome for Adamek fans is that he’s been staggered in fights with Arreola and Grant, two fighters that he defeated but had some problems. In the Estrada fight, Adamek ran around the ring like he was facing a knockout threat rather than a weak puncher.

Adamek’s constant movement and in and out attacks have been his trademark since moving up in weight. It’s doubtful that this style will allow him to beat one of the Klitschkos, because they hit too hard and will be able to reach Adamek even when he’s on the outside.
