In this case, Roach is assuming that Khan will beat Marcos Maidana (29-1, 27 KO’s) this Saturday night in Las Vegas. Not only that. Roach is also taking for granted that Khan will beat the winner of the Timothy Bradley vs. Devon Alexander bout next year.

Roach badly wants Khan to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. Roach, having failed at getting a fight between his #1 fighter Manny Pacquiao and Mayweather, Roach is now hoping that Mayweather will want to fight Khan.

In an article at the guardian.co.uk, Roach said “We get the winner of Tim Bradley – Devon Alexander, then go to 147 pounds and fight Mayweather. I have no fear of that fight. I already had one fighter who can beat him for sure, now I have two. If Mayweather won’t fight Manny, maybe he’ll fight Amir. They’re both faster than him [Mayweather] and he can’t handle speed.”

Roach is really dreaming. Khan will be lucky if they don’t take him out of the ring on a stretcher on Saturday night against Maidana. I’m expecting a brutal knockout with Khan splayed across the canvas like roadkill. It’s not going to be pretty. But it’s laughable to see Roach talking about not only Khan beating Maidana, but also getting past the Bradley-Alexander winner to get a fight against Mayweather. it’s all so far-fetched it’s not even funny. It’s worse than a pipe dream. It reminds me of some kind of childhood wish about Santa Claus coming to deliver presents down the chimney.
