By Gerardo Granados: Perhaps the very first time you saw him fight was in the bottom of an undercard or on the news reports. You only got a glimpse but you could see something special in this fighter, his looks, the way he hits, the way he fights or talks, even the way he trash talks. There is a rumor and it starting to grow; you click and yes it’s true he is going to fight for a minor title against a great boxer who is highly ranked.

Sports journalist and sports writers have different opinions some say he is garbage other thinks he has enough talent to become the next boxing star. Bloggers think the same way but you know this guy has something special. He resembles of old greats you saw while young, not exactly the same but he has power as that former champion yes the one who was recently introduced to the hall of fame, you know the one a mean; he has the charisma of that other fighter that got in trouble with the law, yes that’s the one I am talking about. He has the tools to become a great champion but he likes to party too much; I just hope money wont make him crazy, he is too young to earn that much money, besides he never did good at school so he better save some money in the bank because you never know what can happened.

You hear the news it is confirmed, so you call your buddy “Jonnf92” and buy some tickets. Yeah I know we are not on the ringside but it is not that far, is it? But the bathroom is really far from the seats, nah who cares, hey two beers please. The undercard is good so let see if the fights end like I expect.

Hey two beers, just for the sudden the crowd goes wild, what? What happened? He just connected him with a hard clean upper cut look at him he wont pick the count its over. Damn, I missed it! Who is that kid? What is his name again? He sure has power in his left. Wow look at the round card girls they are beautiful. The cell rings, what? I can’t hear you I´ll call you back.

The undercard was good, lets see if the champ can retain his belt, the challenger looks bigger than the champ, he has great speed and moves very well, yes I know the champ is a great counterpuncher but he has never been matched against some one with that speed or size.

First Round. They just study each other, but I can tell the champ noticed the challenger has too much speed for him; the challengers jab and footwork are good but he doesn’t have much experience.

Second Round. Great right cross, the champ is countering with really hard shots. I know he is getting hit a lot but the punches aren’t hurting him. This round is for the champ.

Third Round. They are clinching again, common stop hugging! The challenger is bleeding was it a punch or a head bunt? The referee called the ringside doctor; he said it is ok.

Fourth Round. The champion looks tired he has been chasing him all over the ring. He is hurt, he is wobbling, he clinched again, common referee do your job. The bell saved him. The challenger couldn’t finish him of.

Fifth Round. Get off the ropes! The champ is hurting his body since the second round and it is starting show.
Sixth Round. The challenger is down, wait he slipped, now they are cleaning that corner, I can see the water from up here.
Thru seventh to tenth round. Both exchanges, showing great heart and courage.

Eleventh Round. The referee stopped the fight. He could have continued, he was robbed he was ahead in the cards; no! the referee did a good job the champ had his guard down and got hit at least a dozen times without hitting back, look he cant walk on his own.

I told you this guy was good, didn’t I? Did you parked far? Well, I´ll see you on Monday.

The cell rings again. Hi sweetheart the fight just ended, yes I´ll be there in ten minutes.
