Image: Vitali is ready to fight Haye nowBy Dallan o’ Donnell: Vitali Klitschko is ready to start negotiations with WBA heavyweight champion David Haye. Speaking from Hamburg on a special edition of Ringside on sky sports, Bernd Boente the manager of the Klitshkos said Vitali is ready to go now. This was quickly shot down by Adam booth-Hayes trainer and manager. Boente exclaimed he would be willing to start negotiations now but booth retaliated saying we can start talking on December 12th. The day after Wladamir fights Derek Chisora. Booth had many excuses ready, the most laughable being the issue of mandatory challengers.

Booth claimed certain obligations had to be met- David had a WBA mandatory challenger, Vitali had to face the winner of a WBC eliminator between Ray Austin and Odlanier solis and Wladamir had to fight some English guy (Derek Chisora). All of these excuses were then unraveled before us by Boente saying im sure the WBC would allow for a unification bout with Vitali and Haye. Now the only stumbling block is the purse. The Klitschko camp want a 50-50 purse, which is more than fair, because in my eyes they should have more negotiating power than David Haye. However that is not good enough for the Haye camp as they want all the money from the British pay per view on sky box office as in Germany there is no pay per view.

I’m sure this fight will be on HBO despite the broadcaster not showing the Klitshkos as they are too boring, but this is a more exciting fight and although the pay per view in the States wont almost match the British numbers it somewhat makes up for the loss of broadcast money in Germany. So where are the excuses now? It seems to me Haye does not want the Vitali fight and wants to see how good or how bad Wladamir looks against Chisora before opening any negotiations but it does seem that Haye is running scared.
