Froch is facing a situation where if he loses it will be his second loss it would not bode well for him in his next Super Six bout following this fight, especially if he ends up facing the Super Six tournament leader WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward.

In article at Sky Sports, Froch says “If I lose, I’ll have to think about stopping. I want to compete for the big fights, not just box at the regional level. This fight is all or nothing for me. I don’t think he can do anything else, he will need his guard on Saturday. I have been criticized for my defense, maybe I will use the high guard myself. If I hit him clean and sweet early on, it could be over quickly. If not, I will win on points.”

It’s never a good thing when you have a fighter that has the seeds of doubt in their minds the way that Froch appears to have right now. When a fighter gets to the point in the career where they’re talking retirement if they lose, that generally suggests that there’s some self doubt there and that they’re probably not long for the sport. Hopefully, Froch doesn’t retire if he gets beaten because he’s not good enough to just roll over Abraham in this fight the way he sets it up, and he needs to look at the possibility that he could end up losing the fight if Abraham connects with one of his big power shots or if he can knock Froch down a few times to win a decision.
