Froch-Abraham: How long will it take for Arthur to knock Carl out?

By Scott Gilfoid: What’s really bad about this fight is that former WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (26-1, 20 KO’s) has the physical tools needed to win it, but he’ll lose anyway because he’ll go primitive against Arthur Abraham (31-1, 25 KO’s) and try to prove his toughness by slugging with the Armenian and end up getting knocked out for his foolishness.

The fight will be taking place at a neutral site in Helsinki, Finland. This was due to Froch’s belief that he couldn’t get a fair decision if the fight were to be held in Abraham’s adopted country of Germany. With the fight now taking place in Finland, Froch has lost any excuses he might have been able to lean on if he ends up losing the fight.

I can’t imagine what Froch will say if he gets beaten now, because there really can’t be any more excuses. The last time Froch fought he got beaten by Mikkel Kessler, and Froch was yapping left and right about this problem and that problem that affected him.

This time, he’s just going to have to deal with the fact that he got spanked by Abraham and learn to live with it. Like I said, Froch can win this fight if he doesn’t lose his senses completely and try to bang with Abraham. But you know and I know that Froch only has one way of fighting and that’s to try and slug it out in primitive fashion. The end result of trying to tangle with the grizzly bear-like Abraham is that you end up getting torn apart, which is what I see happening with Froch.

It’s not humanly possible to take the big clawing shots that Abraham throws without finding yourself flat on your back. Froch may think his chin will be able to withstand the shots from Abraham, but he’s fooling himself like a schoolboy.

Froch is going to go out, stand straight up, throw some wild shots and then get his head taken off. I see this fight ending quickly. Abraham is already in a bad mood after getting dominated and disqualified for fouling the talented Andre Dirrell in his last fight in March, and he’s going to be wanting to make up for that loss by taking it out on poor Froch.

If this was a smart fighter, Abraham would have to chase him around the ring to try and connect with his coma-inducing shots. However, Froch is going to go walking straight into the grizzly bear’s den and get his head taken off with one or two big swipes from Abraham’s paws.

I feel sorry for Froch, because what’s left of him won’t be enough to win his next fight after that, and he’ll end up being drummed out of the Super Six tournament in utter failure and defeat.
